Victim still critical as Oswestry attempted murder suspect bailed

A 15-year-old boy attacked in Oswestry remains critically ill in hospital.

A teenager arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in a graveyard has been released on bail.

The 17-year-old was arrested after a boy was seriously injured in an attack outside St Oswald's Church in Oswestry at around 3pm on Friday.

The boy was kept in police custody over the weekend as the churchyard was cordoned off and officers remained at the scene.

Meanwhile the 15-year-old victim remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Detective Sergeant Dave Myer said: "We are grateful to the people who have come forward and spoken to us about the incident so far.

"We would ask anyone who has not yet spoken to us that has information that may help us with out inquiries to get in contact with us on 101."
