Chess players check in to Telford
Shropshire chess players will be looking for a "home win" as Telford hosts the 2018 national club championships this weekend, attracting players from all over England.

The competition for teams of four is being run at the Park Inn by Radisson in the town centre on April 7 and April 8.
And four Shropshire teams are among the 10 entries. Teams that have entered are: Newcastle-under-Lyme, Forest of Dean, DHSS, GLCC, Wanstead and Woodford, and Redditch, and, from Shropshire, Shrewsbury-based Telepost, Priorslee Lions, Newport, and Telford.
The competition is run by the English Chess Federation and matches start on Saturday at 12.30pm and 5pm, and on Sunday at 10am and 2.30pm.
