The vehicle, from Currys' Knowhow service, is believed to have entered Weir Hill Farm, in Preston Street, while on a delivery and driven to the bottom of the track in an effort to turn around.

However, it got stuck due to flooding in the field, which is near the River Severn.

Burke Bros Recovery, of Wolverhampton, were called to the scene and arrived at 10am yesterday in a 4x4.

But they were unable to rescue the lorry and it was not until after 2.45pm, when a tractor arrived, that it was successfully towed out of the water.

Sam Burke, from Burke Bros Recovery, said: "While we were waiting for the tractor, the vehicle was sinking. The tractor also got stuck on its way back up, so we had to use additional winches."
