'Hobbit house' plans in Ludlow refused by planners
A cutting edge 'hobbit house' eco-home that was to be built into a steep bank in a Shropshire town has been refused planning permission.

However, the designers, whose work has appeared on Channel 4's Grand Designs, say they will be advising their Ludlow-based client to appeal the decision.
The 'earth-sheltered' home, planned for what is currently an overgrown slope at the Linney, near both the River Teme and Ludlow Castle, was refused permission by Shropshire Council planning officers before even going in front of the authority's south planning committee.
