Dracula film extras to appear on Shropshire sets due to be unveiled
The first four extras with prominent roles in a new Dracula movie which is being filmed exclusive in Shropshire will be announced next week.
Producers of Dracula – Killer on the Catwalk said they had been inundated with requests from the public interested in playing a part in the film. Filming for the modern adaptation of the classic horror story, which has seen its budget rise from two million dollars (£1.3m) to three million dollars (£1.98m), will begin on May 4.
John Peters who is promoting the film said it is likely some 1.5 million dollars (£994,000) would be spent in the Bridgnorth area while filming took place.
He said: "Our five-week shoot will begin on May 4 and all our shooting will be on location in Shropshire.
"We have now increased the budget and we've been absolutely overwhelmed with by the support from Shropshire.
"We've received hundreds of emails from people wanting to be extras, from parents promoting their children, to grandparents in their 80s. Some of the stories that have come with the emails have been so moving. We've had applications from actors and drama students, to those who have no acting experience whatsoever.
"We've also been contacted by numerous companies who have been interested in providing catering and accommodation, as well as electrical and carpentry companies."
Mr Peters said they were still looking for a new place to film but they had already secured some "fabulous locations".
