The former security workers of RMP Specialist Services Ltd of Stafford Park,Telford, made their legal claims at Birmingham Employment Tribunal against the Government's Department of Business, Innovation and Skills which is based in Birmingham.

The department opposed the claims.

In addition, the former employees are also claiming thousands of pounds in protective awards.

The department alleged there had been a transfer of jobs and work from RMP to Clearview Security UK Ltd Halesfield Business Park, Halesfield, Telford and because there had been a continuation of business, the government was therefore not responsible for compensating the employees.

Among the Telford claimants were Mrs Marrane Walters of Edith Road, Mr Ben Ozigbo of Downton Court and Mr Shaun Howes of Freeston Avenue, Mr Lewis Phillips of Ketley Road, Ketley, Mr Robert Nolan of Field Lane, Kemberton, near Shifnal, Mr Peter Spilsbury of Whitecar Drive, Finchfield, Mr David Bentley of Cherry Bank , Highley, near Bridgnorth and Mr Amos Dower of Coller Meadow, Shrewsbury.
