The issue is back in the news after it was revealed that Shrewsbury's Preston Boats roundabout is to be ripped up and replaced with a traffic light junction, as part of £4 million roadworks.
It comes after traffic lights were recently introduced on the Forge roundabout off Junction 5 of the M54 near Telford town centre .
