Historical stunt team The Knights of the Damned were the star attraction at the Apley Jousting Fair on Saturday at Apley Farm Shop, in Norton, near Shifnal.

The jousting team was led by stuntman Justin Pearson, who has appeared in silver screen favourites including Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides, Skyfall, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Site owner Lady Harriet Hamilton said she was very pleased with the way the event was received. Visitors were able to try their hand at medieval skills including have-a-go archery – where Paralympian archer Danielle Browne was spotted helping out.

People could also try sword fighting along with circus skills, donkey rides and other games and stalls.

There was also a bouncy castle for younger knights to storm.

Last year, the Jousting Fair attracted more than 2,500 visitors to Apley, and owner Lady Harriet said about the same number had attended this year, with people coming from across the region.

"We had a beautiful day," she said. "Everyone who came along enjoyed it."
