Flash mob dance shock at Shrewsbury railway station
At 7.30am most people are getting ready for work or still tucked up in be, but not these fitness enthusaists.
A team of dancers descended on Shrewsbury railway station today for a flash mob demonstration to mark the launch of a month-long campaign to encourage people to get fit.
Campaign
And despite the cold and wet conditions the dancers performed a full routine before rush-hour commuters.
Some of the county town's most familiar faces have jumped on board the "Get Shrewsbury Active" campaign. Shrewsbury MP Daniel Kawczynski, football club manager Graham Turner, and mayor Jon Tandy are all backing the campaign.
The aim is to encourage people to pledge to doing at least two-and-a-half hours of moderate activity each week, throughout January.
It is being co-ordinated by The Shrewsbury Club, in Sundorne. General manager Richard Attah-Donkor said: "We want to get Shrewsbury a name as a town for being active and for being healthy.
"We live in a wonderful part of the country. Shropshire's beautiful and there's lots of hills and great walks, lots of cycle routes. There's plenty of different ways that people can get active besides from joining a health club."
Lifestyle
Graham Turner, Shrewsbury Town FC manager, said: "We will have all enjoyed ourselves over the Christmas and new year period so going into January, it's just a great opportunity to concentrate on a healthier lifestyle."
