Shropshire police in three-hour search for quad bike boy, 6
A six-year-old boy riding a quad bike sparked a massive, three-hour search after going missing near a quarry on the Shropshire border.
The boy, known only as Callum by police, was later taken to hospital to be checked for a leg injury after being found trapped under the quad bike in a ditch.
He went missing near a quarry at Trentham Pitts, north of the A53 at Loggerheads, Market Drayton, at 1.15pm on Saturday.
The youngster was found trapped under the quad bike three hours later after a search of the quarry and woodland by officers from both Staffordshire and West Mercia Police.
Dogs and the police helicopter were also called in to help with the search.
Staffordshire Police said that, despite his age, Callum was an experienced quad bike rider and was wearing a helmet, overalls and boots. He was riding a child's bike which was fitted with lights.
It is believed the child lives in the Staffordshire Moorlands area.
