LDN Wrestling claims to be the number one UK touring organisation of the sport, and was set up to try and bring back the glory days of the likes of Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks.

Back in the 1980s the sport was a big deal in the UK, with the two foes locking horns at pubs and clubs all over the country as well as on terrestrial television on Saturday afternoons.

Bosses of LDN say that they want to bring that huge interest back and offer an alternative to the "over the top" American WWE.

They say that their version of the sport got a good turnout at the Christmas special show in Ludlow.

A spokesman said: "It went really well. We put on the highest quality, fastest-paced, non-stop wrestling action ever seen on these shores.

"It really is a fantastic, action-packed wrestling family night out and we hope the people of Ludlow enjoyed it."

The show started with an all-in rumble, with wrestlers packing out the ring and only able to be eliminated by being thrown out of it over the top rope. The winner got the chance to take on reigning British heavyweight champion Alan Lee Travis, while there were also appearances from wrestling politician Richard Parliamant and the masked man of mystery the Dark Lord.

Afterwards the stars of the show made themselves available to fans for pictures and autographs.
