The owner of a Bridgnorth country club jailed after a cannabis farm was found hidden in the building has had his prison term extended after admitting supplying fake designer clothes, trainers and jewellery discovered during a raid.

Steven Gary Platt, 43, formerly of Swancote Country Club, pleaded guilty to eight separate offences under the Trade Marks Act 1994.

It resulted in a 25-week custodial sentence being handed out for each offence, to run concurrently, after his current sentence.

Platt, of Filance Lane, Penkridge, Stafford is already serving a two-and-a-half year prison sentence handed out at a court hearing in March after he admitted permitting production of cannabis plants with a street value of nearly £30,000.

He had previously denied any knowledge of the crops, found in hidden rooms upstairs and behind a false wall hiding a trapdoor to the cellar.

Fake Barbour jackets, UGG boots, Nike trainers, Superdry jackets, Pandora bracelets, Juicy Couture flip flops and Reebok t-shirts were also seized.

Public protection officers from Shropshire Council and police found the collection stored in a container in the grounds.
