Christopher's Deli in Mardol, a landmark renowned for its olives, pies and bread has been run by husband and wife team Phil and Terry Satchwill for the past 15 years.

But due to ill health and advancing age, the couple have decided to semi-retire.

Mrs Satchwill said: "I will be really sad to leave Shrewsbury. It is a lovely place but Terry is 71 and he is working 80 hour weeks and that says it all really."

But the couple will not be ceasing all their business interests – they also run Mr Bun Bakery in Church Stretton.

"We will still be carrying on with that," said Mrs Satchwill.

"Christopher's has so much potential but we can't be hands on at both premises and something had to give. Unfortunately that was Christopher's."

There is an asking price of £30,000 for sale through Meridian Business Sales.
