Shropshire chef Suree Coates shares passion for Thai cooking in new book
A multi award-winning chef from Shropshire is all ready to launch her first cook book.
Suree Coates, who runs The King and Thai Restaurant in Broseley, will be sharing her passion and knowledge for food through her first publication, Cook Thai.
She said: "After years of people asking me for recipes and secrets to making great Thai food, I thought it time I shared my passions and knowledge so you too can enjoy healthy Thai food at home or to impress your friends at parties.
"Even if you don't cook you can read a little about me and what brought me to The King and Thai in Broseley, and my passions and tips on making great fresh, healthy food.
"The book features many of my most popular dishes from The King and Thai, and a few cooking tips for the keen Thai cook.
"Since I learned to cook as a child in Thailand I have always been keen to learn new ideas, and share my own tips.
"Cook Thai hopefully shares my passions for fresh cuisine and quality local ingredients, all beautifully illustrated in this easy to understand kitchen companion.
"I hope readers manage to get as much enjoyment from it as I do cooking, and indeed during writing it."
A special pre-launch night of Cook Thai, published by Shropshire-based Away with Media, will be held at the restaurant on September 9, from 7pm.
During the evening chef Suree will be making some special dishes over three courses.
The book, which includes a foreword by award-winning Ludlow chef Will Holland, will then be officially launched at the Ludlow Food Festival on September 13.
Suree said: "We've been so busy at the restaurant over the past few months and would like to thank our customers for their on-going support.
"We have had an eventful few months with holidays, including our own, food show demos, road closures and the exciting news of my forthcoming cook book."
