Georgia Williams Trust now a registered charity
A fund set up in memory of Telford teenager Georgia Williams has achieved charitable status.
The Georgia Williams Trust is now a registered charity, meaning it can increase the value of donations through gift aid.
The cause, which carries the slogan "Free your spirit, join in", raises money for young people to take part in outdoor pursuits which 17-year-old Georia enjoyed.
Trust chairman Richard Langton said: "I am really excited to say that we have now achieved charitable status.
"It's great news as it means we can now start bringing together all the fantastic donations and look at what great causes we would like to spend it on in the future. We will be onto revenue and customs now, saying we want to up our donations with gift aid which will help us raise even more.
"We are working very closely with Georgia's family - her sister Scarlett is a trustee - so they have a big input into where the charity goes from here.
"We would really like people to get involved and tell us how they would like to help us."
