Celebrity chefs lined up for Ludlow Spring Festival
Two top TV chefs will take centre stage at Ludlow Spring Festival this weekend, with thousands expected to descend on the town to sample the fantastic food and delightful drink on offer.
Marcus Bean, the regular chef on ITV's This Morning, and Will Holland, who has appeared on Saturday Kitchen and The Great British Menu, will be the star guests at the popular event inside the grounds of Ludlow Castle.
Free talks and demos will run throughout Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, as well as appearances from Marcus, who runs the New Inn at Baschurch, and Will, there will be a mix of talks encompassing topics including the world's smelliest cheeses and fishy feasts.
Sunday offers tastes from Egypt to the Black Country, with an Egyptian cooking demonstration followed by expert Daniel Jones showing off his creation of an unusual dessert based on beer, pork scratchings and chocolate.
Will Holland, who owns Le Becasse in Ludlow, will also be appearing on the Sunday.
There are also new cheese and bread master classes for an extra £5 per person, run by cheese expert Juliet Harbutt and food writer and columnist Sean Bird.
Children are catered for, too, as Sian Day, from the Vintage Tea Company, will be showing youngsters how to make Welsh cakes and tortillas they can take home for tea.
A spokesman for the event said: "The Ludlow Spring Festival is set to be a bumper food and drink weekend packed full of talks, demos and new master classes for visitors to devour."
A one-day ticket for the event costs £6 for adults, £1.50 for children or £15 for a family ticket for two adults and up to four children under 14. For a two-day ticket it is £9 for adults, £3 for children and £21 for the family ticket.
It is open from 10am to 9pm on Saturday, and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
