Masked robbers escape with cash from Albrighton service station
Two masked robbers carrying a knife escaped with thousands of pounds in cash after threatening security staff attending a cash machine at a service station near Telford.
The raid happened just after 10.30pm yesterday at Jay Services, Cosford Garage, on Newport Road, Albrighton.
Two security staff, who were left shaken but not injured, were threatened with 'blades' and made to lie on the ground. The exact amount of money stolen from them is not yet known.
Police were today carrying out extensive inquiries and appealing for witnesses who may have spotted the robbers either before or after the attack.
Detective Chief Inspector Alan Edwards, of West Mercia Police, said: "It's likely the two offenders were in the vicinity sometime beforehand."
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and ask for Shrewsbury CID.
