Chance for fans to take place on AFC Telford board

Fans of AFC Telford United were today urged to apply for new vacancies on two separate boards following changes to the way the club is run.

Fans of AFC Telford United were today urged to apply for new vacancies on two separate boards following changes to the way the club is run.

Changes were agreed by board members at a special general meeting of the Blue Square Bet Premier club in March.

Positions available include director of commercial and facility development on the club board and vice chairman on the trust board.

Other roles include trustee positions for financial performance, commercial development performance, communications and media strategy and strategy and development.

Club bosses said the changes would give supporters a greater say in the way the club is run and open up greater chanels of communication with fans.

Businesswoman Jenny Wynn has been appointed as the independent chairwoman of a committee which will oversee the new appointments.

The committee will be made up by representatives of the two boards.

She is the managing director of Telford-based TTC Group and has chaired West Mercia Crimestoppers board.

Club chairman Lee Carter said: "Jenny is an exceptional choice as independent chair of the committee and will no doubt use all of her experience to guide us through the next stage of this evolution and beyond."

Anyone wishing to apply for roles on either of the boards should submit their CV and a brief covering letter to the club by noon on June 16.Interviews for the positions will be held on June 21 and 25.

All applicants must either be a member of the Supporters Trust or become a member of the trust prior to appointment.
