Dudleston Heath Horse Show has been axed because of a lack of support - bringing the curtain down on fifty years of history.
Organisers met last night to try to save the event, which took place in the village near Ellesmere.
But the talks failed and it has been decided to wind the show up.
Ann Robinson, who was show secretary at the last event in 2010, said: "The show is not going to continue," adding: "It's with great regret that we reached this decision."
