A late ferry dash from the Isle of Man proved worthwhile for Callum Wraight as Shropshire's premier bowler walked away with his third major title of the year.

Wraight claimed the £1,100 top prize for landing the Pudsey Classic in Yorkshire on Saturday night.

It followed the Castlefields' star's victory in the Kings & Queens Classic at Warrington and the Shropshire Merit.

But Wraight required a late change of travel plans to even be in the 16-man finals line-up at Pudsey after reaching the semi-finals of the Isle of Man Festival on Friday, along with Chester Road's Andy Duckett.

Finals night also saw Wraight defeat Altrincham's Dave Baskerville 21-13 while he was a 21-18 victor over Huddersfield's Ashley Daykin.

And the big Shropshire hope will be hoping to carry his title-winning form into next weekend when he returns to Blackpool's Waterloo for his fifth successive appearance in the Champion of Champions.
