A state trumpeter from Shropshire played his part in the royal wedding as one of eight to play a fanfare moments after the Queen entered Westminster Abbey.
Trumpet Major Tim West, from Telford, was among the lucky few chosen from the Blues & Royals and the Life Guards to be positioned in a vantage spot in the Abbey for the ceremony.
For the occasion 35-year-old Trumpet Major West, from the Life Guards, wore his state dress uniform — a tunic hand-stitched with gold thread.
Mr West's sister, Tania Carter, who lives in Aqueduct in Telford, said: "My mum and my step-dad are over the moon."
