It's not easy to get your face into a royal portrait, but one Shropshire web developer is giving 100,000 internet users the chance to do just that.

Shrewsbury web firm Shoothill has launched a new application for users of the MSN website to submit their pictures for inclusion in an online mosaic image of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The picture, which can be found at http://royal-mosaic.uk.msn.com will be made up of 100,000 individual pictures submitted by members of the public.

The firm is a partner of Microsoft, which runs MSN, and previous forays into online mosaics, and came up with the idea after creating similar mosaics in the past, although the interactivity presents a new development in the technology.

Lara Page, the firm's digital marketing manager, said: "Unlike any other interactive tribute wall, the finished mosaic will be filled with photographs submitted by MSN's users.

"Contributors can upload their image to be featured in the mosaic alongside thousands of other well-wishers, and will receive a unique URL which zooms them straight to their photo.

"It is much more inclusive for people and a much more interactive experience."
