Police said the man was driving a Ford Ranger 4x4 when the accident happened just after 2am between Newton, near Welshampton, and the Ellesmere junction on the A528. No other vehicle was involved.

Police, firefighters and paramedics attended the scene, but were unable to save the man.
Mr Evans was a keen member of the North Shropshire Autograss Racing Club. It is understood he was due to celebrate his 24th birthday this month.
Chairman Ernie Ashley today said: "He had a good race record and a good car. He will be sorely missed."
Writing on the Yorkshire Dales Autograss Club forum Steve and Linda Preston said: "I've known Cary all his life and you wouldn't meet a nicer chap, well mannered and always helpful."
Police are appealing for witnesses.
