Man still held over van attack

A 19-year-old man arrested on suspicion of wounding after a delivery driver was attacked by a gang of armed men in Shropshire continued to be quizzed by detectives today.

The van driver, 26, was ambushed in Allscot, near Wellington, at 12.40am on Sunday.

He was stabbed and beaten and remains in the Princess Royal Hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
