Court date over petrol threat claim

A man was due to appear before magistrates in Telford today charged in connection with an alleged incident on Sunday in which a man drinking at Donnington Sports and Social Clubhad petrol poured over him.

The 43-year-old man, from north Telford, has been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.

He also faces four further charges of assaulting a police officer.
