Arson attempt at town flats

Arsonists tried to set a block of flats on fire by pushing paper through the letterbox and setting it alight, police said today.

Residents at the former British Red Cross site, in Market Street, Wellington, had a lucky escape when the paper failed to ignite during the incident between 7pm and 10.15pm on Wednesday.
