The plans for the marina on the Shropshire Union Canal at Park Heath Farm, Soudley, near Market Drayton, hit a stumbling block last month after councillors in Cheswardine raised unanimous objections.
Developers Moore Marine Ltd wants to build the marina and the plans are due to be discussed by Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council's planning committee at a meeting tonight.
The authority has been consulted by Shropshire Council on an application for the formation of a 200-berth canal marina to include two residential moorings; marina building including flat; repair/maintenance workshop; boat brokerage hire and sale area; toilet and showers.
Committee members are being recommended to advise Shropshire Council that the authority has no objections to the proposal. Shropshire Council members will have the final say on the project at a future meeting.
