Two cars were destroyed in a blaze which saw flames spread to a unit on a Telford business park in a suspected arson attack early today.
A third car parked outside the premises in Ketley Business Park was also damaged after the vehicles were believed to have been deliberately set alight.
The alarm was raised at about 2.50pm. Crews from Telford Central and Wellington fire stations attended for just over two hours, stopping the flames from spreading further into the unit.
Firefighter Gareth Walk- er said: "Due to the smokelogging in another 15 or 20 minutes there would have been extensive damage to that unit and then that would have given us a real problem.
"Any units like that there are things like welding cylinders and lots of things that can go bang."
Firefighters cut away a barred metal gate before breaking down a wooden door to get into the property.
Fire investigators have visited the scene and police have been informed.
