Centre's missing Christmas scene

For many weeks, Telford Shopping Centre had regularly advertised Christmas, but, anyone visiting the beautifully and elaborately decorated malls, may have noticed the lack of the usual reminder for it all – the little nativity scene.
For many years this crib has been placed in front of WH Smiths, but after inquiring as to its present location I received a sincere apology that it could not be used this year because it had not been made fire retardant like the rest of the decorations.
However unintentional the decision may have been, to regular shoppers and any visitors, it could have appeared to be lack of respect for Christian beliefs without the presence of the crib.
I respectfully suggest that not only is it impossible to spell the word Christmas without Christ in it, neither can the celebration itself happen without Christ. I look forward to seeing the return of the nativity scene next Christmas.
Please remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. Finally, tongue in cheek, I wonder if the little stable in Bethlehem was made fire retardant?
