Thieves stole 19 laptop computers worth up to £10,000 in a raid on a Telford school.
The criminals scaled the perimeter wall of Wrekin College in Wellington, before removing metal bars from the window to gain entry to the IT and computer department.
The break-in triggered an alarm - which was ripped from the wall, causing £100 of damage.
The offenders fled with 19 Acer Aspire 7520 laptops which were kept in a store room.
Chris Ammonds, Telford police spokesman, said: "The laptops stolen could be worth as much as £10,000.
"The laptops had 'Wrekin College TF1 3BH' burnt on to the lid.
"These markings will probably have been sandpapered off by now," the police spokesman added.
"We've received information they may have been offered for sale in the Wellington area."
Anyone with information about the raid, which took place between 4.45pm on August 7 and 10am on Tuesday, or who has been offered a laptop to buy, is asked to call Detective Sergeant Andy Garratt at Telford CID on 08457 444888.
