Assistance with survey is needed
LETTER - A small group from Telford & Wrekin Senior Citizens' Forum and the Alzheimer's Society have been tasked to research the experiences of sufferers and carers affected by dementia.
LETTER - My neighbour's forgetfulness arrived very slowly, then came confusion. Her family lived away so off we went to visit the doctor. Finally, the diagnosis was confirmed as dementia (Alzheimer's in her case).
What should I do? Where should I go? It is a cruel, hideous, vicious illness that can wipe out the person you know.
A small group from Telford & Wrekin Senior Citizens' Forum and the Alzheimer's Society have been tasked to research the experiences of sufferers and carers affected by dementia.
It is a confidential survey but to date we have only 44 participants. A drop in the ocean when about 1,500 people suffer from dementia in Telford & Wrekin.
We need to contact as many carers and sufferers as we can in Telford & Wrekin for information to ensure we produce an accurate picture of your experiences. The results will help planners implement the national dementia strategy in late autumn.
Call Kester on (01952) 582931 for information.
