Disgusted over mess left by dogs

I have just come back from a walk with my little granddaughter and all down Sultan Road, Darville, and the little alley which leads to the shops at Ditherington is dog mess.

And all I seem to have done is guide her away from it but, as is always the case, she managed to tread in some. Is dog mess just a common problem in this area or is it the same all over? It would be interesting to know.

There are signs that say don't let your dog foul. Either people cannot read or they have no pride in the area they live in.

I cannot see any reason why people cannot clean the mess up outside their gardens regardless of whose animal has done it.

Surely they must sometimes see the dog and the owner so why don't they say something to them?

Where are the people who are supposed to "monitor" dog mess and how do they monitor it? That would be interesting to know.

I've never seen anyone patrolling these areas and how do they know whose animal it is? The council are quick enough to say you will be fined if you let your dog foul the streets but they don't seem to do anything about it.

Or do they? Perhaps they would let us know how many people have been fined and how they determine whose dog does what, especially in the areas off the streets.
