Troubled singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse will be among the headline acts at the Weston Park V Festival this summer, it was revealed today.

The 24-year-old Grammy Award winner is currently riding high in the album charts with the deluxe edition of her hit Back to Black album, which has jumped from number three to the top spot this week.

Despite her well-publicised personal problems, she still has the talent to give a blistering live performance.

She put her troubles behind her to steal the show at last month's Brit Awards ceremony.

More than 100 of the hottest acts will be taking to the five stages at the 13th V Festival, on August 16 and 17 at Weston Park and Chelmsford.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday at 10am and there is bound to be a huge rush to enjoy a line-up which also includes Muse, The Verve and The Kings of Leon.

Festival director Bob Angus said: "We're really proud of the V Festival line-up this year.

"A European exclusive performance by Muse and some truly fantastic established live acts mixed with some exciting newcomers will result in a cracking weekend."

Other bands line up are the Stereophonics, Kaiser Chiefs, Travis and The Prodigy.

Singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette and Welsh sensation Duffy, currently topping the charts with her 60s-style hit Mercy, are also appearing, as is Amy Macdonald.

Girls Aloud, now something of a national institution, are on the bill as are their rivals The Sugababes.

Ticket prices are £145 for a weekend pass with camping, £125 for a weekend pass without camping and £70 for a day ticket, plus £8 booking fees. Ticket outlets are www.vfestival.com, www.gigsandtours.com and www.seetickets.com
