Bring back old system in schools

Can anyone understand the education "league tables"? The truth about our poor education system is fully exposed by the lowering of educational standards and (to me) incomprehensible figures.

I am totally convinced that we should stop this socialist education experiment and think seriously about bringing back the proven 11+ system which gave at least 20 per cent of students a top quality education and a social discipline.

The grammar and technical school system provided quality university students, potential managers and skilled workers.

The existing comprehensive system should be retained to benefit the remaining 80 per cent with transference between the two systems on student ability.

The Shropshire Star revealed 300,000 pupils nationwide are deprived of a basic education, leaving school "without a good grounding of the three Rs". That should be lowered to 240,000 under my proposals.

Now Labour wants to extend the school leaving age up to 18 years of age. It's understandable why. Students are not included in the unemployed figures and they would swell those figures.

Even more so now uncontrolled foreigners are taking 80 per cent of available jobs. They also want to amalgamate schools due to a decreasing population.

If schools are left as they are, class sizes and the student/teacher ratios would be reduced, giving more teacher time per student and a greater chance of a better education and a further reduction of the 300,000 figure.
