Gratitude for saving our work
We work at Sapphire House, Telford, and your readers will know that we have been given the excellent news that the functions we undertake are to remain in the Telford area and will not be moved to Bristol.

We are delighted by this decision, although we realise that there will be some job losses. We are, however, slightly disappointed (but not surprised) by the way everyone seems to be claiming credit for this decision.
You have reported that the PCS Union "led a huge campaign" and that Telford & Wrekin Council has also been involved in lobbying.
Both are true, but we would like to point out that the vast majority of the work to save our jobs has, in fact, been undertaken by our Head of Establishment, who has worked tirelessly in our cause in the last year. Her work was acknowledged by Maj Gen Tyler last week.
We would, therefore, like to place on record our gratitude to our Head of Establishment and we look forward to integrating our business into the new Defence Support Group.
