Where will money come from?

This time it does not seem like yet another launch for Transforming Telford, but a great big, slap-up shindig at the e-Innovation Centre.

As we all well know, the company started as Telford First and was given approximately £1.3 million of taxpayers' money in its initial year and now receives over £1 million funding per year, again from the residents.

It is a great concern that the residents do not get a say in what is happening, but have to endure things such as the debacle, called regeneration, at Woodside, which would appear to have impacted negatively on the community.

This shindig is to outline a 10-year plan, which will have a direct impact on many communities, but they are discussing matters while hiding behind "invitation only" smoke screens.

As we are paying for this company and as what it does or does not do could have a positive or negative impact on our communities, I ask Andrew Eade, as leader of the council, and Sarah Raper, director of Transforming Telford, who is paying for this?

And why are you so worried about involving and consulting residents? The residents are paying, why are you only involving businesses, some of whom are providing a service to this function but are not local businesses.

It is being said that Transforming Telford could have a shelf life of one year, just where does the current administration now stand with regards TT?
