Support for volunteers
Mrs Ashford, (Starmail October 1) must have got out of the wrong side of her bed on the day she visited Sunnycroft. It is a long time since I have read such a churlish, negative letter.

My wife and I have visited the property several times each year for the past four or five years and have noticed how the facilities and presentation have improved. It really is a beautiful little property.
On our last visit, we had a lovely time and were made most welcome as usual, including an excellent cuppa and slice of cake and as many "free" refills as we could drink - that's good value in my book!
If the lady was a true supporter of the National Trust she would have had a quiet word with the property manager and not spread her gripes across the Shropshire Star pages.
The property gets so much support from volunteers and the local community, it does little justice to their efforts and commitment to read such a letter.
If she really wants to support the National Trust, Mrs Ashford would do well to roll her sleeves up and get volunteering herself.
