Have you been fraud victim too?

I wanted to know whether any other readers might have experienced money being taken from their bank accounts - and whether they might have fallen victim in the same way as I believe happened to me.

It was very unusual for me to go to the bank in the middle of the week to draw money from the cashpoint.

I'm very pleased I did because my bank allowed me to withdraw the money I wanted and then gave me my balance - which showed me to be considerably overdrawn.

I believe, but cannot prove, that my card details were taken when I used a cashpoint outside the Tesco Extra store in Haygate Road in Wellington last Saturday just after 9pm.

If it's happened to several of us, it might warrant an investigation and take a criminal off the streets who might otherwise have left the country before the different banks start to think about a particular cashpoint.

Of course, you may not yet know that you are being robbed so if you have used a cashpoint you don't know recently, or if a regular one felt a little strange, just check your balance.
