Visit a disappointment
My sisters and I, who are long standing members of the National Trust, visited its property Sunnycroft in Wellington.

How disappointed we were with our visit, on September 23. Your press coverage gave a promise of stalls and attractions but we saw one bric-a-brac stall of poor quality items, a children's sweet stall, an over-priced NT plant sale and teas.
The latter was probably the most disappointing. We joined a long queue for a cup of tea and then had to find somewhere to sit - this obviously hadn't been considered in planning.
There was a grass area that could have had more tables and chairs. Refreshments were over-priced and the cake was not baked to a Victorian recipe. We were not the only visitors astonished with the price charged - some families must have spent a small fortune.
Three ice creams (Attingham Farm-produced) were thrown away on the way home - obviously left out sometime and re-frozen.
How pleased we were to return to Wales, thankful our National Trust properties are better managed and have a warmer welcome.
There were children's games, but pin the tail on the donkey wasn't popular, and probably better consideration should have been given to providing better attractions for a wider age range of visitors.
The house could have benefited from a dusting beforehand, some of the guides were not very friendly and the damsons in the orchard could have been picked, bagged and put on sale
Full marks, however, to the young man whose duty it was to park up hundreds of cars in a very small space. He was extremely helpful.
