Are police ignoring bypass?
I am interested to know whether officers at Donnington Police Station are using the main Trench Road as an alternative to the bypass?

We live (with two small children) in Trench Road and are concerned by the increasing numbers of police vehicles - and fire engines - that travel at excessive speed along this road.
We understand that on occasion they need to attend incidents along Trench Road and the roads leading off Trench Road but the number of police vehicles we see is often four or five a day.
It is worth noting that we don't have the same problem with ambulances. Trench Road, in case the police hadn't noticed, is mainly residential, with some pubs and shops, and as such there are a lot of pedestrians, parked cars, cyclists and buses.
This makes travelling at the 30mph speed limit difficult enough at times and so careering along at speeds of 60 and 70mph is a disaster waiting to happen.
To make matters worse, we often find the warning lights and sirens are only flicked on and off on approach to the mini-roundabouts, which doesn't really give anyone enough notice to move out of the way.
I am also concerned that this problem has got worse since the introduction of the new traffic management system at Trench Lock.
Any answers would be gratefully received.
