Poll tax answer to our trouble

What a ridiculous load of rubbish! Great Britain making headline news right across the media over refuse collection.

In Telford we have a black bin for household waste, a green bin for compostable waste and a box for newspapers, tins, bottles and the like.

It is no trouble at all. It works perfectly well and it doesn't need any further thought.

If there is a problem with cost somewhere else in the country, all we have to do is go back to the poll tax, where we all paid the same amount towards the community services that we all share, whether there are two in a house or 12 in a house, then the new Labour Government wouldn't have to think of new ways of taxing us.

There would be more than enough money for rubbish collection.

It would be perfectly fair to everybody and we shouldn't have to fund some overpaid new Quango or a load of hangers-on to think of new ways to take money off us with another stealth tax.
