Council is killing off this town

And so the ridiculous Shifnal Merry-Go-Round is allowed to continue.

And so the ridiculous Shifnal Merry-Go-Round is allowed to continue.

By that I mean yet another first class shop which has served the local community and much farther afield for years is being forced to close.

And why? I would hazard a guess for the same reason as the Pine Shop's sad demise several years earlier.

Since the Jerningham Arms car park was appropriated and our loving, caring council allowed planning permission, business in that area of town has declined. Once more we are losing a quality business that has sold quality clothes.

Shifnal High Street already looks like a car boot with shops lying empty or selling tat. The rest are either pubs or restaurants.

The building plot at the old Jerningham Arms car park is still an absolute eyesore. How on earth was planning permission given?

Sue, you and your staff will be sadly missed by the community of Shifnal and elsewhere. It is difficult to find anything positive to say about Shifnal council.

Mr B Stevens, Shifnal
