God calls upon us to tell others

Regarding the letter by A T Heist. I'm so sorry you feel so threatened by Christianity; as you say faith is everyone's right. We are all called by God to tell others, whether they listen is up to them.

Let me tell you a story. Three years ago I was the same as you, but I really was wicked, troubled and a pain in the behind. I was guilty of road rage, I was racist and totally horrible.

I had been to church on odd occasions. This one Sunday we had a new vicar, so I went to see what he was made of. He took complete charge of our church, no fire and brimstone, just a certain belief in God.

A fortnight before I was to be confirmed I wondered what made me think I would be any better for becoming a Christian. Our lady vicar came to my house and talked for over two hours, no hard sell, just talking. When she went down my path to go home, I would have walked through hell to get to God.

On my confirmation day when Bishop Allen of Shrewsbury confirmed me into the family of Christianity my life began again.

After that day I became a totally different person. I know this story sounds unbelievable; but believe me it is so true. I gave my life to God and he has given me so much in return, a deep peace, a love of the human race and so much more.

So my friend, don't knock something you do not have. I pray that one day you too will find what I and many others have discovered.

God bless.
