On Sunday we set off with some trepidation to a venue which holds 8,000, in brilliant sunshine.

We parked very easily, walked a few yards, looked at a brick tiled floor of famous names, noticing many that we knew.

We sat down in a bright, clean, air conditioned, immaculately furnished dining room overlooking a wonderful and manicured grassed area.

We ate a delicious three-course lunch, which was beautifully served by delightful staff. There was a lovely relaxed unhurried atmosphere, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Then for coffee on the terrace, in a stillness hardly believable in between two busy roads, with lovely views over the countryside.

All this at a very reasonable price per head.

So where were we? At the New Meadow Restaurant at STFC's new stadium.

Well worth a visit on a non-match day.
