Christian principles forgotten

Mr Buhllman disagrees with me regarding the state of our nation. When I mention things like drugs, alcohol, domestic violence, teenage pregnancy, STDs etc, he says they are no worse than ever.

Well, those people like doctors and nurses and social workers at the sharp end who have to try to pick up the pieces of our broken society tell a different story.

The fact is that we were once a predominantly Christian country where the 10 Commandments and the life of Jesus Christ formed the guiding principles by which most people lived.

The Englishman's word was his bond, integrity in dealings and faithfulness in marriage were taken for granted. It was a much happier country and most of the ills that afflict us were unheard of.

Yes, wickedness and evil have always existed and you are right, Mr Buhllman, it is inspired by the Devil.

God is good, he made everything good and we can see his hand in the way our world was designed. However, he gave man the freedom to choose either to love and serve him or ignore him, live for self and end up serving Satan.

But God has a plan to redeem planet earth through his son Jesus Christ and it's working out in spite of all the evil we see.
