Look into car park problems

I do wish someone would look into the parking problems in Newport.

I do wish someone would look into the parking problems in Newport.

I work in the high street and I am unable to park. I usually park on the Somerfield lower car park (where there are no signs about parking restrictions), yet last week I received two fines from Euro Car parks.

I am currently disputing these fines due to lack of signs and the fact that the upper car park, with signs, is fenced off, giving the impression the restrictions apply only to the park by the store.

Recently I tried to park on the Stafford Street car park (far from my workplace) and was unable to find a space at 8.55am. I then had to return to Somerfield, risking another fine and also being 15 minutes late for work.

This is unfair to the hard- working people of this town.

Surely the lower end of the Somerfield car park should be kept unrestricted as there is access to properties and businesses there, and also the workers within the town need somewhere to park and the street appears to be the only option.
