An "open air" picnic concert in the Ironbridge Gorge tomorrow will now be held indoors - because of the soggy weather.

The award-winning Abraham Darby Showband had been due to perform on The Green in Blists Hill Victorian Town.

But organisers have made a last-minute switch of venue following the thunderstorms which caused so much mayhem in Telford and Bridgnorth.

The young musicians from Abraham Darby School will now perform indoors at the Engine Shop in Enginuity, next door to the Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron.

Pat Edgar, museum spokeswoman, said: "Concert-goers are still invited to bring a picnic and rug to sit on and enjoy a "carpet picnic" indoors while they listen to the 60-piece showband."

Doors open from 6.30pm while the concert starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets - £5 for adults, £3 for children under 16 and senior citizens, and £14 for a family - can be bought on the door.
