The veteran performer had been due to perform at the Giants of Jazz line-up in the Quarry for the final of the weekend's three summer concerts, on June 15. The 80-year-old will be replaced by Paul Jones, formerly of Manfred Mann. The bill already includes Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen and Humphrey Lyttelton and his band. The 80-year-old will be replaced by Paul Jones, formerly of Manfred Mann. Jones will be on stage with Digby Fairweather and his Half Dozen in a pure jazz set.
The bill already includes Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen and Humphrey Lyttelton and his band. Tickets for the picnic-style concert are £17.50 for adults and £5 for children aged 5 to 15.
The concert will round off a spectacular weekend of live music at the Quarry.
More than 5,000 people are expected to watch Jools Holland return to Shrewsbury with his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra for the Shropshire Star concert on July 13.
