It was probably the Teddy Boys of the 1960s who introduced the first fashion fad for young people, writes teen blogger Rhian..

Since then, there have been the Mods and skinheads and perhaps the best known of all - the Punk Rockers.

These days though, we've got a real mixture. There are Goths, Moshers, Emos, Skaters, Grebs and Chavs, all with their separate identies, dress codes and musical tastes.

It would take too long to try and explain them all, but for anyone who is interested, definitions can be got from www.urbandictionary.com

Whats become a ground breaking variation of the whole youth music and fashion scene though, and typical of teenagers breaking new taboos, is the 'whigga'.

Ali G might have had something to do with it, but whiggas are white kids also known as chavs who copy the language of black American rap artists and combine it with Jamaican accents and slang terms, and then go around greeting each other with stuff like "hey, homey" and "innit" except that, since they're not black rap artists, they've become known as 'whiggas'.

I don't think I should try and explain that futher because what the equality and diversity police must think of it - I don't know, but that's 21st century Britain for you.
