We are not getting a fair deal
Why am I getting the impression that the people of Bishop's Castle are always drawing the short straw?
Why am I getting the impression that the people of Bishop's Castle are always drawing the short straw?
I refer to two separate but significant issues, the outcome of which will have a major impact on the town.
Firstly, the Primary Care Trust wants to close our excellent hospital, with the loss of its experienced staff, that provide a range of services, which, if withdrawn, would necessitate much travelling from people of Bishop's Castle if they were to access these services elsewhere.
Secondly, developers seek permission to build a major long-term polluter in the form of an incinerator, incidentally just three hundred yards from our Community College and adjacent to the town.
These two separate issues will receive judgement as to their future from people who 'come from off'.
One could be forgiven, I hope, for wondering if these decision makers aren't performing a sort of inverted nimby'ism privately.
In other words, thank heaven it's not happening in my back yard.
